I was wondering if its possible to view Russian Cyrillic while in LU. I'm an English speaker but I'm learning Russian and interested in seeing it casually used between speakers and / or talking to any Russian speakers (when I am competent enough with it). I don't want to replace the entire language pack or anything, just wanted to know if its possible to see Russian Cyrillic characters in chat.
Thanks

I think you have to install russian fonts in to your OS.
Its easy, and if you have zip package with russian fonts (which you can download in the internet), then simply unzip it to the folder like
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

Thanks for the help, but in my search to find Russian fonts I found an article that revealed I just needed to change my system locale under "Control Panel > Regional & Language Settings > Administrative" to Russia. It works now, I see cyrillic. ;D

That's for actual font styles. What he needs are the language packs. :)

Worth noting Windows 7 seems to have a large bank of fonts for Russian Cyrillic anyway. Not sure about XP and older editions.

Again guys, you need the language packs, not the fonts ;)

I've already posted this had nothing to do with fonts OR language packs, but rather the system locale. You have to specify how it handles Unicode it doesn't understand. If the system locale is set to Russian, it knows what to do with it.
Thanks for the help anyhow.

I've seen quite a few people speak in Russian now and its just so frustrating to sit back and struggle to understand. If only I could learn it overnight. Haha.
