These days, I just tested (again) the GTA:Liberty City (mod for Vice City that use gta3's map and other stuff) and I saw how the objects are more solid ! (like the roof, it have collision, so you can stay on it)
I think that importing the GTA:LC's map's collision in LU is a good idea.
I will show you some photos:

PS: I'm asking if this interior exist in gta3 too, or it is just in San Andreas ?!

Awesome! I support this idea :D
-
That Marco's Bistro interior is just in SA.

Love it! I'm not sure if LU supports uploading and overriding player collisions...but if not, I'd love to see it be possible. I have some major uses for such an idea. ;)

In the next version, you should be able to do it yourself :)

In the next version you will can add new objects, so this means you can not change the actual collision.

It means the opposite. In the next version you're able to load custom objects. And since custom objects needs custom collision files, it let's you load that as well. What would be the use of an object if you can't stand on it, right? :)

The problem is the freaking /reconnect! I hope it fixes in the next version

/reconnect has nothing to do with changing collisions.

Right, of course, but you will load the whole gta3's map again just to have these collision ? I don't think so.
Of course, we can load just a building for example, and we will replace the actual one with the new one, to enable the roof collision, but this will not work for the lighthouse for example.

I meant using objects to replace buildings, if someone types /reconnect everything will be fucked up for him

That is likely caused by the game reloading the non-native objects. The only real fix for this on LU's end would be to stream them faster...but obviously that can cause problems for users on lower-end systems.

What I meant to say is if they got loading collision for custom objects, it wouldn't be real hard to load custom collisions for other objects too.

I'd say that'd almost be a given since loading it for existing objects could easily just change the object number to the custom object. :)

Good suggestion, but you need the agreement of the GTA:LC team. I think this shouldn't be a problem.

What is GTA:LC?
Welcome to the LU Forums! ;)
-
GTA:LC is a modification for GTA:VC which replaces/adds GTAIII map to it. The map is better, as you can drive through the stadium and pretty much everywhere.
Please, google after posting if you find something uncommon.

You said it yourself, Shadow:

It is for GTA:VC. LU is for GTA III.
(If your post is not meant to be provocative, then don't post it in such a provocative way.)

Planet Earth to Sugar! Moby posted in his post what GTA:LC is. He suggested to include GTA:LC's collision files in LU, because those files are better than the default GTA III cols files and should also match.
Welcome on Earth ;).

I'm well aware of that. Point is, your statement should be directed at their own forum, not this one. GTA:LC is not affiliated with LU, so telling him to ask for GTA:LC's permission wouldn't be valid since he is not a LU Developer, nor is this GTA:LC's forum. ;)
I am a happy resident of planet Earth. Unfortunately though, some people still think they live on Pluto... ;)

So, crouching will also be enabled?

GTA III doesn't have crouching.

Can it be created? It would be cool to see GTA 3 with crouching ability.

Stop lying to people. Ofcourse GTAIII has crouching, but how should you know if you never played against cops. (inb4 edits). Go through all anim numbers, then bind the crouch one to C and have an array store if your crouched or not then if you aren't crouched, C will make you crouch, if not, it will restore to initial animation. I also done a shooting animation mod which works on LU ( by editing the weapons.dat inside the LUServer ) with this, but it's a bit cacky ;d

What are you talking about? GTA III does not have crouching for the player.

look in this, ( hacked the health... pfft )
look at the cop who DUCKS.
Turn that 90 degrees and you got a CROUCH animation. A simillar one, not really precise.

You are recreating something that still does not actually exist in the game, as stated previously.

Well, i was thinking, since GTA:LC uses GTA VC's stuff(or whatever you call it), then when GTA VC gets converted to GTA III (Hence GTA:LC use), will those crouching capabilities from GTA VC, come to GTA III?
@Shadow.: Let me try and take a look at the weapons.dat file, and see if i could find anything.

They wouldn't. All GTA:LC is, is a modified GTA:VC with imported models and textures. Everything else they do is basically just general memory hooking to hack the game, replacement of various audio files, and modification of the SCM code just to emulate the general GTA III game feeling. All of this is incredibly basic compared to the crouching animation idea.
As for weapon.dat, that only contains weapon data. The "crouch" he's referring to is a police animation from the game where officers kneel and aim their handgun. It was never meant to be for the player itself, hence why it's not compatible with Claude's skin. It is also not an actual crouch animation, as one does not exist in GTA III. This wasn't introduced to the GTA series until GTA:VC.
