I addressed it in a recent topic and it looked like it was solved thus I locked the topic. However after two days the situation was again the same and I really couldn't be arsed to prod the guys again, if anyone wants to try his own luck, log in irc and make them notice.

Also you do not know about what the old players can do, they know every thing about LU, inclusive hacks and exploits, we have a lot of crashers and DDoSers who can turn off your server in seconds.

You will learn if you can stay here for long time.
I disagree with everything except the bit I quoted. LU old players, the bad ones, along with LU's nasty bugs are what drives newcomers away.

I also share my own fair cut of knowledge about LU in general, so you if you need any help feel free to shoot me a PM. As for the 0.17 server you're not the only one having this problem and I know the solution until the devs ever fix it in a next update. Though the solution will be useless for you since you're making a racing gamemode: Remove all the vehicles and pickups to be loaded both from content.xml and scripts. Also if you happen to spawn a vehicle even after the server loaded, it will still crash. Good luck with your server, may you succeed where others failed :)

I didn't get any response whether it has been fixed or not, but after I notified the guys in IRC, it seems to works normally again, so I assume the problem is solved and gonna lock this topic.

Anyone else's LU browser is hanging for several seconds upon open and/or while loading servers? No, I don't have any internet issue.

As the server CZ was somewhere close to that region, And worst server I do not typically have any issues, Worst server is also in that region.
Only CZ and WS are close GTA.ru isn't, CZ was hosted in Switzerland, WS in France, and GTA.ru I'm quite sure, in Russia.

On topic: Don't mix the problems cause it's not only one, first one the freeze while downloading files; I had this issue since ever and it wasn't a big deal because all I had to do was logging in before my game hung else I'd get kicked for login timeout. Now since the last update we also got this memory check timeout that is triggered everytime the game is paused, minimised or hung. So basically everytime I join my game freezes for some seconds as usual and I get the memory check kick. That's the reason why I can't play there anymore.

The memory check kick is a plague brought in with the last update, while the freeze-on-join is a peculiar problem of GTA.ru since it happens only there, I'm not sure what conflicts with it because only few people get this issue, like me and this Cris guy.

My server is still on 0.16 and I don't plan on moving to 0.17 unless the devs drop a new update to fix that sort of insta-afk kick also known as memory check timeout.

My server is back online, sorry I was busy in the last days. Here is the deal, there is some fecker that keeps crashing my server, and the server doesn't auto restart when that happens. I tried implementing something to make it auto restart when it closes (LINUX) but it didn't work and I myself am not familiar with it.

That's exactly what I meant, I'm not saying you're wrong, I think you're totally right, but since we already know we can't count on them too much, we can go on fixing what's fixable ourselves. I mean some, of course not all, of the bugs can probably be fixed by a script workaround, we just need to figure it out, and by working together it will be of course be easier. I could open a topic and edit it when we figure out a solution and create a pack of script fixes ready to be downloaded. But right now I don't remember many bugs since I haven't played a lot lately. Looking at the issues list topics it's a good way to remember, but right now let me make up my mind, then I'll probably go on with that unless someone else does it in the meanwhile, which is good too.

I guess it's the last time I say it and they I'll go back to mind my own business, but ok here we go:
I know some people deemed LU to be dead in the past but if it ever was true it's nothing compared to now. if you open up LU browser right now you can see there are just two servers, lately I've been keeping an eye on the stats via Thijn's site, we've had three servers in total 24/7. Now one of them is gone, not sure if it's temporary or not, but I doubt it will be back up. Nonetheless I'm posting this to urge everyone who still cares about LU or about the community or just cares in general to do something as soon as possible. I think the situation is reaching a point of no return. Note this post is not to blame devs or anything, it's a post for everyone. If I was able I'd try to do the funniest and most entertaining server ever but I don't have the capabilities, and as for the rest, I tried my best in order to promote LU and increase the community, I've had my own share of that. If you have some ideas, feel free to share. If this fails I'll still be here trying to keep up my own server for the survivors, but if it's possible I urge everyone to hurry up. It's not a competition right now, if we work together we can all benefit from some sane cooperation, in my opinion we should aim to increase the playerbase and keeping the current one, which is really a big deal right now. I don't think I need to spend more words, here is my point of view, hopefully I'll be proven wrong and if it turned out I'm making it a bigger deal than it is, I'd be very pleased :). But if you think I'm right, drop some feedback here and share your opinions and ideas. Players, scripters, server owners, people that haven't finished their own project, or dropped it, even developers if possible, everyone is welcomed here.

I'd also like to add that considering what is the objective in my opinion, we should focus on that and put apart other stuff temporarily, one is for example blaming the devs, their laziness isn't a secret for anyone but you know we're people and I'm lazy too :P maybe one of the reason why they don't bother posting anything is that they fear being judged or something or that everyone would crowd them with questions which is in fact what happens everytime they show up (guess I did it too at times :-\).
So forget about anything else at the moment, if you have a project, release it now, the bugs can be fixed later, just make sure it's anything except the default gamemode, we've had enough of those. niCe, Tamas, Svenko, Ankris, Argonath's staff, MTA staff and anyone else (I know most of you won't read it but I had to try) bring your server back, if you don't want to spend money, use a crappy free host or something (who knows if Vrocker could provide hosting for free?). Doesn't matter if most server were empty or not, but for real seeing just two servers makes it look deadlier than ever. Even if there weren't much players LU still looked more alive when there were 8 or more servers, even if most of them were default gamemode or not far from there.

If anyone needs help with the common LU bugs, I have a good experience with it. I can help with some of them, (for example new scripters often don't know that boats can be easily exploited to crash clients).

More than two years after its foundation, I felt like it was about time to have its own topic. So here we go: unwelcomed to Worst Server unofficial topic folks. All the updates about lately added awful features, unimportant news disclosures, further script unoptimisation and other random shite will be posted here.

The whole concept behind it was about how long a unskilled script newb can survive in the virtual jungle LU is. At least initially the server was based off Mess About Server script, however it later evolved into a messy freeroam of its own kind, even though I'm the same script newb as two years ago :P

Along with this topic I'm also somewhat glad to announce, after a not well pondered sudden change of mind, that Worst Server has just been updated to 0.17 version, and thus more easily playable by everyone.

I can't assure there will be more frequent updates, lately motivation struck me again, but more than half of the times I end up being stuck at some point while coding some crazy ideas. I may take it back in the future, but for long I planned to rewrite it completely to no extent. So I'll try to progressively modify it in shape with smaller updates.

Here in Worst Server, we don't believe in security, so we use unhashed passwords! Jokes ::) but in fact, we don't use passwords at all. There is no account system so far, I always deemed it too good for the server. The only downside being the FFA impersonation, consider it a feature, if you see my nick in the server you may never know whether it's me or someone else :D

What it's there to add? Today I opened the browser and I find it impressive how this joke made it so far, breaking several records, currently being the second oldest server other than GTA.ru (at the time of posting) and the only server that has been up without a break since August 2014. And yes I know "lolmortuary" is also older but it's been constantly on and off.

"The Worst is here to stay" and being the WSO (Worst Server Owner) I can't assure I'll keep faith with this promise.

I did some tests, and I confirm what Motley says, I'd just like to sum it up:

- Vehicle.Angle gets value in degrees, and sets it in radians.
- Player.Angle gets and sets the value in degrees, but it doesn't change if the mouse is controlling the camera, this explains why it works if the player is in spawnscreen or using SetCameraMatrix, or using top-down view, and why it doesn't work with Player.Frozen since the mouse is still controlling the camera. Basically the mouse overrides Player.Angle settings.
- RestoreCamera always sets the angle to 270 degrees.
