replace one of the debris textures (leafs, news-paper) and make it spawn on the ground where fire and explotions happens...

Been thinking more on the peds.

They spawn around the player, client side just like in the orginal game.  Set a upper limit on like 20 peds.
No network data should be transmitted yet, until a player comes close to another player...

two or more players within a certain radius;  peds flags/position data is streamed.

Maximum number of peds limit decreases by 50% per player within the same area.

That means if 4 players is gathered, they stream only 5 peds each to the server.

This means that the more players gathered, the less bandwith per client is used. Reaching maximum bandwith usage when 2 players.

The peds moves slowly and behaves so calm that bandwith usage should not be affected too much.

Basicly all of the data files of the game should be possible to replace/modify.

I see two ways to do this.

a. dir hack (for example weapons.dff or ) for smaller files. LU already does this with a few files, such as the handling.cfg
b. inject into orginal compressed packages. U could solve this by having a subfolder inside the serverfolder, for example called "gta3.img" and all files inside that will be injected into the clients orginal files.

 LU first making a backup of the orginal  files wich is restored when game is quit.

Or what?

GTA III engine don't support this. It's imposible (i think)

catching fire should be scriptable, changing the texture may be worse i guess... But maybe u can remove objects in LU?

Trick:  adding a sphere inside the fire one must enter to complete the mission? U have to extinguish the fire to get to that sphere alive.

But it rather see it done properly tho...

lets make this happen

we can make this game so awesome.

UL have unleashed (phun inteded) gta3, we can do anything. COM ON!

servers are emty most of the day, and the gamemodes are unfinished. COM ON!

guess I have to learn how to script...

synced waves means 1 step closer to adding boats?  :)

Boats were going to be in this update so waves were synced for them. Unfortunately boats were causing more problems so we decided to release this update without boats so we have more time to fix them.

U could remove the waves if they cause 2 much trouble. Infact i think the sea should be still some times anyway... (with nice weather) Big waves could make your boat sink..

More wishes:

 8) Climbing ladders!!
I dont worry about what animation too choose, imagine putting up ladders everywhere :D

 8) helicopters with car pickup magnet. (transport cars / containers with players / stuff inside)

 8) Serverside patching of the img files! (and the rest of any game data)

 8) Gamemode: transport the suitcase: 1 team must pick up and get the suitcase back in their own base. other team tries to steal the suitcase.


 8) Respawn time: in a battle situation there should be some penalty for getting killed, 10-15 sec respawn limit should do it.

 8) Gamemode: dogfights... add new better plane with weapon and 12 'o clock aim

 8) Ehancement:Prostitute-bots for healing. spawning on the orginal prostitute places.

 8) Enhancement:Patroling Police-bots. They will respond on car alarms, attacks, violence and dirty driving. Eventually property alarms. (banks / car-retailers)

 8) Entertainment: Drug packages that makes funny effects on your cam/gfx. (missions where you HAVE to take that drug)

 8) Gamemode: advanced cops and robbers. Cops must defend real banks with real money inside (only visible for robbers), when robbers break in an alarm alerts the cops and robbers gets visible on radar (for a limited radius, lets say for example 1000m). If cop manages to kill/arrest all robbers, they score. If 1 of the robbers survives outside the radar radius for over 3 minutes, robbers win. Cops can respawn, robbers cannot.

8) Gamemode: Police can place out roadblocks. (10 each player)

8) Ehancement: Increase rocket launcher (add a physical rocket?) and sniper range!

8) Ehancement: First person view

 8) Ehancement: Red flash screen when beeing hit.

 8) Enhancement: Invincible 5 secs after respawn (5sec on stationary spawn, 1 sec on co-player spawn)

 8) Enhancement: Fuel meter and functionable gas stations. (cost money)

8) Ehancement: Add mines and spikemats as weapons. (just makes the vehicle to heavy for the wheels or similar to simulate a puncture)



 8) Enhancement: Burnable trees and bushes: if flames come close trees/bushes cach fire and changes texture (black and mostly transparent).  Grass too?

 8) enhancement: Instead of instantly loosing HP from beeing shot: bleeding some gradually takes HP.
And loosing limbs...

 8) Gamemode: Singleplayermissions: for example taxi driver, travellers are bots spawning for your mission. (all kinds of singleplayermissions can be fun 2 make a more active city) (police, fireman, medic, robber, kill a dude/mob etc)

 8) Streaming radio m3u files in car, other players can hear when they are close or sit inside the car.

Despite my pro skills in tetris, im im still too much of a newbie in scripting to make my ideas come real.

I have a feeling that this can be done easier, for example like toggable streaming of all game events per player, wich would let us see exactly what the player sees. Or am I way off now?
