It's been like this since I reinstalled windows 8, Steam starts up on boot so that can really just fuck off, chrome is pinned on my taskbar, and spotify is in my startmenu.

I think I can live without a desktop really

I've heard its a solid system. Unfortunately since I'm broke at the moment, I will have to sell my Nexus 4 to see if I can get a Windows 8 phone. It would complete my circle of devices, since I own a Microsoft Surface Pro (tablet) and a cheap Windows 8 laptop.

Win 8 does not have a startup button, unless it's 8.1.
